The one thing I have learned from being involved in post-abortion ministry over the last ten years is that the post-abortive need permission to cry. Over the next few weeks, you will find that will you may cry many tears and could be afraid at the extent of your grieving. Family members may not understand your pain and try to encourage you to “get over it.” The fact is that you cannot get over this pain – you must work through it. After I had cried all the tears the Lord had designed for me to shed over my dear aborted child, Jesse, I began to feel joy again. The joy can only come from walking through each step of pain.
